Due to school closing:
•Relay for Life dances will be combined into 1 dance on Saturday evening from 6-8 pm.
•Job shadowing moved to 24th
•Cheer forms accepted through 21st


Due to the forecasted inclement weather which includes the potential for downed trees and hazardous conditions all McMinn County Schools will be closed on Friday, Feb. 17. 11 and 12-month employees will report at 9 a.m., if it is safe to do so. Job Shadow Day has been postponed, for information please check our social media and website.
McMinn County Schools Job Shadow Day for eighth-graders has been rescheduled to Friday, Feb. 24. Students participating in job shadow day should contact the individual they were planning to shadow, notify them of the change, and ask permission to shadow on the rescheduled date.


February 16th Announcements


Wednesday, February 22nd will be the next meeting for FCA (6th - 8th grades) after school - 4:30 with pick up at the library. Students need to let Ms. Wallace or Mrs. Pam know if they are attending so that pizza can be ordered.

Nanayaa Maloney was nominated by Mrs. Keylon as a WonderKids Future Scientist through Wonderworks in Pigeon Forge. This award is presented to students who exhibit a passion for science and hope to one day change the world! She received 4 free passes to WonderWorks for this recognition!

Congratulations to Rosetta Watson and Robin Walker for recognition as the 2023 Heart of the Program winners representing Calhoun Elementary! They are joined by school principal Jon Franks.


These 8th graders just made $2154 from doughnut sales to help fund their trip to Dollywood in May. Thank you to everyone who supported!

8th Grade Families,
Doughnuts are being picked up Thursday evening and will be handed out at school to 8th graders on Friday morning. These students are responsible for getting orders delivered to customers ASAP. If you don’t want your 8th grader to carry these on the bus, please make plans to pick them up at school on Friday. You may email skeylon@mcminnschools.com for more info.
